Zombies Exist! Romney Contemplating Run for Senate

So, let’s see, the last time he ran for office he was beat by a community organizer.  Then when President Trump was the R nominee Romney tried to sink him.  He lives again!  Zombie Romney, TURD.

Failed 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney offered lukewarm praise for President Trump over the weekend at his annual E2 summit — an appearance that included some rumblings of possibly yet another run for office from the former Massachusetts governor.
The annual summit in Utah, attracting wealthy Romney donors, political elites and business leaders, saw Romney declare that he and Trump are “not as far apart as I feared early on,” according to Utah’s KUER radio.

He reportedly pointed to Trump’s appointment of Justice Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court and Trump’s pro-business economic policies as areas where the two agree. He also agreed with Trump’s approach to NATO. Romney had been widely rumored to be in contention for the position of Secretary of State — but Trump eventually went with Rex Tillerson.

In a Q&A, he called it “encouraging” that he had been considered for the position.

“I didn’t believe for a minute I could tell him what to do on any of those things, but I thought that that kind of openness was very encouraging,” Romney said. “And if he was willing to have me in that position, I would be anxious to serve because I love the country.

Yet the summit also raised the possibility that Romney is on maneuvers for a future run himself. According to Politico, in a closed-door appearance Friday, former Democratic Vice President Joe Biden floated the idea that Romney should run again — this time for the Senate.

Politico reported that Romney, who has previously spoken to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) about succeeding Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT), merely smiled in response to the remark as the audience applauded.

Should Romney run again, it would mark the latest in a long line of attempts to seek high office. He challenged Democratic Sen. Ted Kennedy for his Massachusetts Senate seat in 1994, before running for and winning the Massachusetts gubernatorial race in 2002.

In 2008, Romney ran unsuccessfully for the Republican nomination, being beaten by Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), and lost to President Barack Obama after winning the nomination in 2012. He also considered running for the 2016 nomination, before deciding against it. However, he gave a speech in which he condemned Trump as “a phony, a fraud” before later allowing himself to be considered to be Trump’s Secretary of State.

Should he run for Senate in the future, it would mark the sixth time he has either run for office or seriously considered it.

Multiple Romney advisers told Politico that while a run remained unlikely, he was not yet prepared to close the door on it.

Double Barrel Biden Now Romney’s Buddy

For anyone from under a rock recently, Biden meeting with Romney, McCain, Graham, and Ryan goes to show there is not but BS difference in the two major parties. They are one in the same. Thank heaven President Trump won the primary and general, I shudder when considering the alternatives.

From AP by Steve Peoples dated 6/5/2017 entitled, “Former Dem Vice President Biden to headline Romney summit”:

Just days after launching a new political action committee, former Democratic Vice President Joe Biden will join Republican officials and donors at a weekend retreat hosted by former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Biden will be interviewed by Romney during a Friday evening event in Park City, Utah, at the invitation-only summit, according to a Biden spokesman and participants briefed on the schedule. The speaker lineup for what is traditionally a gathering of Romney allies is packed with high-profile Republicans, among them House Speaker Paul Ryan and Sens. Lindsey Graham and John McCain.

Ryan was Romney’s running mate in 2012.

Biden spokeswoman Kate Bedingfield confirmed Biden’s attendance on Monday ahead of the three-day conference, which starts on Thursday.

“Biden is attending because he believes in bipartisanship and the importance of keeping good lines of communication open across the aisle,” she said.

The former vice president, 74, last week unveiled a political action committee that stoked fresh speculation he may seek the presidency in 2020. The committee, named American Possibilities PAC, allows him to raise money for candidates, pay for politically related travel costs and maintain relationships with donors.

In an email to supporters about the new organization, Biden said “the negativity, the pettiness, the small-mindedness of our politics drives me crazy.” He did not mention President Donald Trump by name but said that kind of politics is “not who we are.”

Romney was a prominent Trump critic in the months leading up to last fall’s election and many of his Republican allies were prominent voices in the “Never Trump” movement. In the weeks after the election, however, Romney sought to repair the relationship and was briefly considered a candidate to serve as Trump’s secretary of state.

Mitt Romney’s fifth annual Deer Valley political retreat is set for June 8-10 and will once again include the former presidential candidate’s 2012 running mate, now House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wisc.
Trump declined an invitation to attend the annual gathering, which has featured Democrats such as David Axelrod in the past.

This year’s participants include several Trump skeptics. FedEx CEO Fred Smith has warned that Trump’s plans for trade would be “catastrophic” for the U.S. economy. Another participant, Dow Chemical CEO Andrew Liveris, heads Trump’s manufacturing council, but he condemned Trump’s decision last week to withdraw from an international agreement to address climate change.

“We are honored once again to gather leaders of business and industry, innovators from across the globe, and political representatives from both sides of the aisle to discuss the future of American leadership,” conference executive director Matt Waldrip said.

The ‘Box of Rocks’ Party: Bill Kristol, TURD and Mitt Romney, TURD

LOL … Bill Kristol, TURD is apparently trying to enlist Mitt Romney, TURD’s help in forming a … well, on most ballots it would be at least an 8th party.  That is a party after Constitution, Libertarian, some out right Socialist/Communists, Greens, Republican, Democrats (socialists), and Independents under some name.  Go for it Mittens, TURD, I’d love to see the results.  You people make a box of rocks look like geniuses.

‘Weekly Standard’ Editor Bill Kristol Meeting Mitt Romney to Float Third Party Run

As the #NeverTrump forces continue to cast about for ways to knock Donald Trump from his frontrunner status in the race for the White House, the editor of the Weekly Standard magazine has admitted to meeting in D.C. with Mitt Romney in order to convince him to run a third party campaign against Trump.

Despite repeatedly saying he isn’t interested in running for president, Mitt Romney nonetheless met last week with William Kristol. The meeting was called at the editor’s behest for a talk about an independent run for the White House this year.

Romney, a former Massachusetts Governor and the 2012 GOP nominee for President, has said several times this cycle that he is not interested in running for president again. In March, for instance, the past GOP nominee told NBC Today Host Matt Lauer that “there are no circumstances I can foresee where it would possibly happen.”

Regardless of his pledge, Romney met with Kristol to discuss the conservative commentator’s ideas about putting together a last minute alternative to Donald Trump.

“He came pretty close to being elected president, so I thought he may consider doing it, especially since he has been very forthright in explaining why Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton should not be president of the United States,” Kristol told the Washington Post.

Kristol, though, said he did recognize the many times Romney has said he isn’t interested in running in 2016 and added that if Romney turned him down he hoped he could get the Massachusetts Gov. to line up behind whatever candidate the magazine editor might eventually find.

“Obviously, if there were to be an independent candidacy, Romney’s support would be very important,” Kristol told the paper. “I wanted to get his wisdom on whether it was more or less doable than I thought.”

Still, even if he won’t consider yet another run for the White House himself, Romney has been a vocal critic of the 2016 campaign in general and Donald Trump in particular.

In fact, Last Thursday Romney told the Washington Examiner that he was “dismayed” by the choices for 2016 and insisted he won’t support either of the candidates representing the nation’s two major parties.

“I’m certainly going to be hoping that we find someone who I have my confidence in who becomes nominee. I don’t intend on supporting either of the major party candidates at this point,” Romney said.

For his part, Bill Kristol has been calling for someone he feels is better than Trump for months and has been trying to find a way to make some other candidate the “face of American conservatism” for 2016.

On a recent appearance on MSNBC, for instance, Kristol said, “We can do better” than Trump and Hillary. He added that Trump doesn’t have the “character” to be our commander in chief.

“I would like to have a conservative to vote for,” Kristol told Andrea Mitchell. “I think an awful lot of people in the country would, including a lot of moderates and conservatives … We have two candidates who are viewed by considerable majorities in an unfavorable way, not a favorable way, as the major party nominees.”

Another person Kristol tried to convince to face off against Hillary and Trump was retired Marine Corps General James Mattis. The General, though, delivered a firm “no” to Kristol’s idea.

The GOPe TURDs

I get it re: The Donald.  I too have concerns regarding his fitness for the presidency of this Republic.  There certainly are/were more principled individuals in the race whereas Donald seems to be more, what shall I say, pragmatic or simply shots from the hip.  The guy is a long way from my personal pick and I am concerned regarding the militancy of some of his supporters.  But this is the way the pendulum swings, pray for our Constitution and the United States.

That said, I really have to hand it to Trump, he is bringing the TURDs and cockroaches within the GOPe into the light.  After all these years they are finally showing their true stripes because they just can’t control Donald.  I love it.

The term “Conservative” has come to mean nothing anymore.  It is as loaded a term as “Progressive”.  It is all BS.  Note that few talk about being a Constitutionalist because then it is much easier to debunk one’s BS.

I find it interesting that The National Review came out so strongly against Trump, marginalizing them in any future debates re: Conservatism.  As posted herein the village idiot Glenn Beck is on the verge of being committed over his hostility to Trump.  The Weekly Standard’s Bill ‘TURD’ Kristol even admits he is prepared to hand Hillary Clinton the Oval Office rather than have Trump elected (like I thought it was government for, of and by the people, not Kristol or the GOPe.)  Lindsey Graham, who should be shilling for Bernie, even thought the GOPe were going “bat shit crazy”, well that is what he accused Trump supporters for being but in reality it’s the GOPe.  I do note though that bat shit (guano) is worth about $6 a pound retail whereas no one would give a plugged nickel for Graham’s shit.

Another shrill shill has been Fox News who has been carrying water for Rubio, so much for their tripe, “Fair and Balanced”.  The GOPe even got Romney to come out and make a fool of himself, AGAIN!  What a MAJOR TURD.

An abject loser trying to persuade the uncritical that he should be schooling us on Trump.  They propose that we support Marco “TURD” Rubio, who is one of the biggest TURDs floating down the Potomac (and way, way out of his league- oh, but they can control him, thus the GOPe support)?

Give it up Mitt Romney, TURD.

Two TURDs in a Parka

U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan, set to headline a fundraiser for Rep. Mia Love, R-Utah, in Salt Lake City on Monday, will also be skiing at Deer Valley with donors willing to pay $25,000 to his own political action committee.

The hefty contribution to the Wisconsin Republican’s PAC gets donors time on the slopes with both Ryan and former presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Saturday, plus dinner at Romney’s Deer Valley home, KSL has learned.

<snip>

Ryan’s fundraiser for Love is a $10,000-per-table breakfast at the Little America Hotel. The speaker is expected to leave Utah midmorning Monday and return to Washington, D.C.

Romney Ryan 1

I have already posted concerning Mia “TURD” Love voting for Obama’s 2016-17 budget along with her erstwhile fellow Utah Republican ‘Representative’ TURDs in the US House.

My first introduction to Paul Ryan was back in 2011 when he was opposing Barack “TURD” Obama on his budget.  That, at least in part, got Ryan the ‘D’ ticket on Romney’s laughable 2012 run for the presidency.  Of course since then Paul “TURD” Ryan took over Speakership of the House and endorsed the huge, secretly put together Obama’s mega-budget.  This buget gives Obama total control over spending with no chance of defunding Obamacare, stopping his amnesty program, Iran deal or basically anything else, all with OUR and OUR KID’s dollars.  Screw you Paul “TURD” Ryan.  You and Romney, two TURDs in a parka.

What does it tell you when Ryan supports Obama, as well as Love and Romney supports Ryan and “was too nice of a guy” to tell us about the real Obama but attacks Trump but is afraid to endorse the losing and lying Rubio?  In politics, too often the TURDs float to the top in the same bowl.

Mitt “we have good reason to believe” Romney, TURD

You would think that the establishment TURDs in the Republican party would be a bit more creative than using a tactic from the Democrats or at least have someone else make the claim.  But no, Mittens couldn’t think of anything more creative than pull the same ‘bombshell hidden in his taxes’ crap against Trump that Harry ‘TURD’ Reid used against Romney.  I love what Reid said when asked about it after the election, he simply stated, “Romney didn’t win, did he?”  Unfortunately for Mittens (he wears the boxing gloves to hide his mittens) it works the first time it’s used (in recent memory), you’re a leftist, and the media hypes it up but not the second time around.  Romney using the same tactics as the Dems, who would have thunk {sarc}!  For heaven’s sake, Romney, have a little  more respect for OUR intelligence!

Mitt Romney 1

From wnd.com by Douglas Ernst dated 2/24/2016 entitled, “Romney Uses Reid’s Playbook, Slimes Trump on Taxes“:

Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is now using a page out of Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid’s playbook to attack Donald Trump.

Romney appeared on Fox News’ “Your World With Neil Cavuto” on Wednesday and claimed – without proof – that a “bombshell” may be lurking in Trump’s taxes. The comment mirrors the 2012 attack Reid leveled against Romney from the Senate floor during President Obama’s re-election campaign.

Trump released 92-pages of financial disclosure records last July, which included $1.4 billion in assets and $265 million in liabilities. All candidates are required to release such reports dating back through one calendar year.

“I think we have good reason to believe that there’s a bombshell in Donald Trump’s taxes,” the former Massachusetts governor told host Neil Cavuto. “Either he is not anywhere near as wealthy as he says he is, or he hasn’t been paying the kind of taxes we would expect him to pay, or perhaps he hasn’t been giving money to the vets or the disabled like he has been telling us he’s been doing. The reason I think there is a bombshell in there is because every time he is asked about his taxes, he dodges and delays and says, ‘Well, we’re working on it.’ Hey we’re not talking about the taxes that are coming due this year. We are talking about taxes already filed, back taxes.”

Reid was asked in March 2015 by CNN’s Dana Bash if he regretted making unsubstantiated claims about Romney’s taxes.

“Romney didn’t win, did he?” said Reid, Mediaite reported March 21, 2015.
